Though the shipping was slow (it took about 2 weeks to receive the order from the time that it was placed), the light itself is great. It looks wonderful with the rest of our mid-century modern decor. The assembly instructions did not include instruction on hard wiring the fixture, though we were able to figure it out without too much trouble. Overall great value for the money.

I love this fixture, but want to make certain it will work. The ceiling height is 8 1/2 feet. What is a safe distance from top of fixture to ceiling? A:The cord of this item can be cut to desired length. Fixture operates from a wall switch.

A:The safe distance from top of fixture to ceiling is 5 feet. The reason why the cord is so long is because this is an adjustable cord. Yes, it will work on a regular wall swtich cause you can either hard wire or plug in. Sorya
